Day 106
April 18, 2017What an adventure today. After the necessary coffee run, we ended up in Flushing for some dumplings. Saw this chap taking it very, very easy. Then, motorcycle ride up through Long Island, where I was flagged down by a few people and a motorcycle. Poor guy had no license and his angry girlfriend ensured that the cop very sternly demand he not ride it Any More. So I hopped on this stranger’s sports bike and drove it to a house a mile or two away. Then drank some incredible beer at Garvies Point Brewery out beyond Oyster Bay. And on the way home, to escape a sudden downpour, ducked into the closed Sea Cliff Bistro, run by the nicest man in New York, named Walt. He offered us a roof and, eventually, some of his family’s easter dinner. Just don’t call them. They don’t have a phone and the number listed goes to another bistro altogether. It’s all very confusing.
Then I got home and fell asleep by 8pm.
